Rise & Lead with Rhonda Brandon
Chief Executive Officer, Inventor, and Cofounder
Alexandra Coren, Wambi’s Chief Executive Officer, inventor, and cofounder, is an entrepreneur and trailblazer who has dedicated her career to improving healthcare culture. Growing up with chronically ill parents, Alexandra spent much of her life in hospital settings, where she witnessed firsthand the compassionate care that her parents received. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in health care, where she uncovered the crucial link between caregivers feeling appreciated and providing better patient care—which ultimately led her to found Wambi in 2016.
Alexandra’s expertise and accomplishments have been widely recognized in the healthcare industry and beyond, including being named as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s Top Health IT Up-and-Comers and being a member of the AONL Corporate Advisory Council. She has been invited to speak at numerous events worldwide, including the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Summit, the World Woman Summit, and the G20 YEA summit in Berlin among world-renowned leaders.
Executive Chairwoman, Inventor, and Cofounder
While serving as Director of Patient Experience in acute care facilities, Alex realized that patient experience was highly dependent on interactions with caregivers, many of which suffered from poor morale and burnout. Administration was beginning to connect its poor caregiver job satisfaction with turnover and how this impacted patient care and their bottom line. In an attempt to improve satisfaction among caregivers and ultimately patient experience, Alex uncovered the connection between feeling appreciated and providing better patient care.
This realization that patient satisfaction and team member engagement are directly tied to care providers feeling appreciated led Alex to found Wambi. Alex Coren’s passion is rooted in her belief that integrating the voices of patients, families, caregivers, and administrators into a seamless positive feedback loop can bring compassion back to the forefront of healthcare to impact the patient recovery process. Alex now serves as Wambi’s Chief Innovation Officer as well as Cofounder of its affiliate company, Carepostcard.
Ms. Coren’s industry engagements include serving as a Corporate Advisory Council Member to the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, a US delegate to the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance, a US delegate for Nexus Global, and being a member of the Forbes Technology Council, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Young Entrepreneurs Council. Ms. Coren has been invited to speak worldwide at events such as South by South West (SXSW), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Summit, the World Woman Summit, and the G20 YEA summit in Berlin among world-renowned leaders. Her achievements include being named the Top Women in Healthcare Awards’ Rising Star and Becker’s Hospital Review’s Top Health IT Up-and-Comers.
